Michael S. Kain MD

Michael S. Kain, M.D., is a consulting orthopaedic surgeon at Shriners Hospitals for Children — Springfield, and is affiliated with the Lahey Hospital and Medical Center. Dr. Kain received his undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College and earned his medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Kain completed a general surgery internship at Boston University Medical Center, a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Boston University Medical Center, and an M.E. Muller European traveling hip fellowship at the Schulthess Klinik, Zurich, Switzerland; Inselspital, University of Bern, Switzerland.

His Areas of special interest to Dr. Kain include acetabulum fractures, ankle fractures, ankle pain, ankle sprains, clavicle injuries, complex fractures, foot fractures, fracture repair and reconstruction, fracture surgery, hip arthritis surgery, hip arthroplasty, hip arthroscopy, hip pain, hip replacement, joint preservation of the hip, knee arthroplasty, knee joint replacement, knee surgery, painful hip replacement, pelvic/acetabular trauma, periprosthetic fracture surgery of the hip, polytrauma, revision hip replacement surgery, sacral fracture and trauma/fracture surgery. Dr. Kain is a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
