Michael S. Barr MD, MBA, FACP

Michael S. Barr, MD, is NCQA's Executive Vice President for its research, analysis and performance measurement department. In this position, he promotes delivery system reform and performance measurement, research, analysis and consulting work.

Prior to joining NCQA, Dr. Barr was Senior Vice President of the Division of Medical Practice at the American College of Physicians (ACP). At ACP, he was active on the NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home Advisory Committee, a multi-stakeholder group that helps guide NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home recognition.

Prior to his work at ACP, Dr. Barr was Chief Medical Officer of Baltimore Medical System, Inc. He also held leadership positions at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, serving as Physician Director of Medical Management Programs and Physician Manager of the Division of General Internal Medicine.
