Michael Ricks

Michael Ricks joined Hoag in July 2015 as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO). In this role, Michael is responsible for the day to day operations at the Newport Beach and Irvine campuses for Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian and its Health Centers throughout Orange County. Mr. Ricks has more than 20 years of leadership experience in health care. He has served in various leadership capacities for nationally recognized organizations including Sentara Healthcare and Dignity Health.

His prior experience as a COO and Hospital President/CEO provided him with extensive experience in collaborating with physicians to develop nationally recognized clinical service lines, driving improvements in patient experience and employee engagement and achieving industry leading financial performance. Mr. Ricks earned his bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University and a Master of Health Administration degree at Washington University’s School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO.
