Professor Michael Rees was jointly appointed by Bangor University and the NHS Trust as a Professor in 2005, Michael is currently the Professor of Cardiovascular Studies.Michael was appointed a Consultant Cardioradiologist in Leeds in 1984 after 2 years in the United states as a Fellow/Associate in the University of Iowa and a Research Associate in the Deborah Heart and Lung Centre in New Jersey. Michael then spent 9 years successfully building a clinical and research environment in cardiovascular disease with an emphasis on cardiac imaging and intervention in Leeds becoming a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Leeds.

Michael was appointed as a consulting Professor at Stanford University, California in 1993. Michael has been Professor of Radiological Sciences at Keele University (1993-95) and a Professor of Clinical Radiology at Bristol University (1995-2005).Michael was awarded his PhD by the University of Ioannina (Greece), where is a visiting Professor in Internal Medicine to the Department of Cardiology.His research interests are cardiac imaging and intervention, cortical processes and cardiovascular output, cardiology and nuclear medicine, medical education.
