Michael P. Johnson DMD, FACS

Dr. Michael P Johnson DMD, FACS is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who practices both in academia and in private practice. He is full-time faculty and serves as the Program Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Associate Chief of Dental Services at Yale New Haven Hospital, Yale University. He is board certified as a Diplomate in the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Johnson has held many leadership roles which include past president of the CT Shoreline Dental Society, Executive Board Member of the Connecticut Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and committee member of multiple hospital committees at Yale New Haven Hospital (Graduate Medical Education Executive Board and Committee, Graduate Dental Education Committee, Sedation Committee, Perioperative Safety and Quality Committee).
Dr Johnson performs the full-scope of oral and maxillofacial surgery, including minor and major office-based surgery (basic oral surgery, surgery for impacted teeth, dental implants and bone grafting), reconstructive jaw surgery / orthognathic surgery, surgical management of maxillofacial pathology (jaw cysts and tumors), maxillofacial trauma, and infection management.
