Michael Peter Federle MD, FACR

Dr. Federle is a Professor Emeritus of Radiology at Stanford University. His prior positions include Associate Chair in charge of Education for Stanford University Department of Radiology, Chairman and Chief of Abdominal Imaging at the University of Pittsburgh, and Chief of Radiology at San Francisco General Hospital. Dr. Federle graduated summa cum laude in Biology from Marquette University and received his MD from Georgetown University. He trained in Internal Medicine and Radiology at the University of Cincinnati Hospital and pursued an abdominal imaging fellowship at UC San Francisco.

His focus in clinical research and teaching is abdominal imaging with a particular emphasis on CT scanning. Within this broad field, he has a wide range of specific and general interests, leading to over 300 publications in peer-reviewed journals as well as hundreds of book chapters. In addition, he has been the main editor and/or author of more than 20 textbooks on radiology.
