Michael P. Abernathy DDS

Dr. Michael Abernathy graduated from Baylor Dental School in 1974. He has had over thirty articles published, written two books of practice management, and has presented to national and international dental meetings.

Dr. Abernathy established the “Gold Standard” for dental practices with his “Family and Cosmetic Dentistry of North Texas.” In an industry in which the average dental practice grosses half a million dollars a year, Dr. Abernathy, with two associates and eight hygienists, collected $8 million per year, while maintaining an overhead of 50%. This fee-for-service (no managed care) practice brought in an average of 200 new patients per month. Dr. Abernathy also started and operated Signature Dental Lab and Summit Management, a consulting company to the dental industry.

Since retiring from practice, Dr. Abernathy has been in high demand as a consultant, lecturer, trainer, author and educator to the dental industry. He has spoken to dental groups in 40 states and in several countries on clinical and practice management topics. Mike is anxious to share his expertise and passion with our seminar attendees, helping them to build highly successful practices.
