Michael O’Sullivan is a neurologist and neuroscientist with a focus on cognition and functional recovery after stroke. Mike is interested in networks that support long-term memory and cognitive control, resilience and adaptation of those networks to injury. His group utilizes advanced brain imaging, including MRI and PET, and cognitive neuroscience approaches, with interests in the prediction of prognosis and the design of intervention studies. He co-chairs the Cognition Group of the international Stroke Recovery and Rehabilitation Roundtable.
Mike trained as an undergraduate in Cambridge, did specialist training in London, including a Ph.D. on cerebral small vessel disease with Hugh Markus, and was an MRC Clinician Scientist Fellow from 2008-2012. He moved to Brisbane in March 2017.
