Michael Montague is a Theoretical Molecular Biologist at the Quantum Biology Institute. Dr. Montague's research at the Archimedes Network is focused upon threat modeling of biotechnology, artificial intelligence, information hazard management, and weapon theory, with an emphasis upon deliberate use.

Prior to being at the Archimedes Network, Michael was a Senior Scholar at the Center for Health Security at Hopkins, and a Research Associate at the Future for Humanity Institute. He spent 8 years working at the J. Craig Venter Institute in Rockville, MD where he was involved in research that was foundational to the modern genetic engineering methodologies that are now collectively referred to as "Synthetic Biology". Michael Montague received his PhD in Microbiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. His 2005 dissertation title was "Functional Phylogeny of Protein Families".
