Dr. Michael Kolber is a Professor in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Alberta. He has practiced in Peace River, Alberta, Canada since 1999, using his additional skills training in gastroenterology. He is passionate about quality measurement and improvement in procedural medicine and completed an MSc in Clinical Epidemiology at the University of Alberta examining the quality of colonoscopies performed by Alberta Family Physicians. He was the principal investigator in the Alberta Primary Care Endoscopy (APC-Endo) and Alberta Family Physician Electronic Endoscopy (AFPEE) studies.

He continues to serve the community he loves while contributing academically to the University of Alberta Department of Family Medicine. As part of the PEER Team, he contributes to Tools for Practice, medical podcasts, CPD Roadshows, and academic detailing within the province, and enjoys presenting at local, provincial, national, and international events. Mike co-chairs the annual ASEP - Endoscopy Skills Day for Practicing Endoscopists and the largest primary care conference in Alberta - The Practical Evidence for Informed Practice (PEIP) conference.
