Michael Laffan is Professor of Haemostasis and Thrombosis in the department of haematology. He trained in medicine at the University of Oxford and trained in hematology at the Hammersmith and Royal Free hospitals. His principal research interests are the structure function relationship of von Willebrand factor, in particular the role of glycosylation, and the mechanisms and regulation of thrombin generation. He is director of the Hammersmith Hospital Hemophilia centre and is responsible for postgraduate education in hematology.
