Dr. Michael Klompas is an infectious disease physician and associate hospital epidemiologist at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He works on public health surveillance using electronic health information with a particular focus on finding ways to make electronic surveillance sensitive, specific, objective, and reproducible. Examples include healthcare-associated infections, communicable diseases, and diabetes. He is the clinical leader for the Electronic medical record Support for Public Health Project (ESP) under the umbrella of the CDC Center of Excellence for Public Health Informatics.
