Michael is a respected international consultant in health informatics and eHealth strategy and systems and has worked on the largest of eHealth programmes around the world including NHS England, for the Supreme Council of Health - Qatar, Queensland Health - Australia, the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in Singapore developing an integrated care model and national EMR strategy for the Singapore Ministry of Health, and most recently with the Samoan Ministry of Health on a national eHealth programme financed by the Asian Development Bank and the Philippines MoH.
Michael has spent his entire career in the information technology domain with the last 15 years dedicated to working on eHealth innovation and large and complex eHealth programmes around the globe. Michael was a professor of business information systems on the Webster MBA programme at Regents College, Inner Circle, Regents’ Park, London (now in Oxford at Oxford Brookes University) from 1992 - 2008.
Michael has delivered multiple advanced eHealth strategies and programmes for national Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Hospitals and Primary Healthcare systems, Pathology Modernisation and Diagnostic Imaging programmes as well as Integrated Care strategies, Clinical “Best Practice” integration, Decision Support, Telemedicine (NCD’s, Chronic Disease Management) and Healthcare Analytics and AI. He is the former Head of Programme for the London & Southern Clusters of the NHS England Connecting for Health Programme – National Programme for IT (NPfIT) (2004-2008) covering some 20 million UK citizens. His current research and innovation in the field of chronic disease via his company Care Innovations Corporation represent a major step forward in cost-effective, high-quality care.
Michael is a member of the WHO Digital Health Technical Advisory Group Roster of Experts, Associate Vice-Chair of the Health & Care Executive of the British Computer Society, and an Assessor for the BCS Federation for Informatics Professionals – FEDIP.
