Michael J. Mauro, MD, is a Professor of Medicine and Leader of the Myeloproliferative Neoplasms Program and Leukemia Service at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK). He also serves as a Professor of Medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College.

He received his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School, completed residency at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell, and subsequently completed hematology/oncology training at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). At OHSU, he spent more than a decade working with Brian Druker and directing CML clinical trials.

His clinical and research expertise includes chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), myelofibrosis, and rare hematologic disorders, with particular expertise in CML management, long-term outcomes, and treatment sequencing strategies. He has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed publications and contributes to national and international guideline development.
