His Clinical interests are Blood Conservation and Autologous Transfusion in Cardiac Surgery, Development of anaesthetic services for major aortic surgery. His research interests are Blood Transfusion in Cardiac Surgery. Current memeberships J.desmond is Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists, Member of the Royal College of Physicians, Member of the British Blood Transfusion Society.
