Michael H. Sieweke is Director of Research at the Center National de la Recherche (CNRS) and Group Leader at the Center d'Immunologie de Marseille-Luminy, France. Michael Sieweke moved there in 1999 after his habilitation in Heidelberg, where he also did research at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory. He studied in Tübingen and received his doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley, USA. Sieweke was a Visiting Scholar at the Australian Regenerative Medicine Institute in Melbourne, Australia, and an Einstein BIH Visiting Fellow at the Max Delbruck Center for Molecular Medicine in Berlin. He has received numerous grants and awards, including the CNRS Silver Medal and an ERC Advanced grant. He is a member of scientific committees and associations, such as the European Molecular Biology Organization. In April 2018, Sieweke took up his Humboldt Professorship at the Technical University of Dresden.
