Michael Geissler MD, PhD

Prof. Michael Geisler is currently Medical Director and Chief Physician of the Clinic for General Internal Medicine, Oncology / Hematology, Gastroenterology, and Infectious Diseases at Esslingen Clinic. After more than 14 years of activity, he decided to break new ground from now on. As one of the most renowned oncologists in Germany, Geisler is one of the figureheads of the Esslingen Clinic. In addition to his involvement in numerous national and international committees, Geisler worked on important scientific studies that provided important findings in cancer research.

Geisler studied human medicine in Mainz and completed his clinical and scientific training at the University Medical Center Freiburg and the Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA. In 2001 he graduated from his specialist in internal medicine, which was followed by his habilitation in internal medicine at the Freiburg University Medical Center. As a result, Geissler acquired the sub-areas "Gastroenterology" and "Hematology / Oncology" as well as the additional designation "Infectiology". In 2005 the Esslingen Clinic appointed him chief physician at the Clinic for General Internal Medicine, Oncology / Hematology, Gastroenterology, and Infectiology, which Geißler significantly expanded. In addition, he founded the Esslingen oncology focus and promoted the development of the Esslingen Cancer Center.
