Michael G. Surette PhD

Dr. Michael G. Surette, Ph.D. is a Professor of Medicine and Biochemistry, and Canada Research Chair in Interdisciplinary Microbiome Research at the Farncombe Family Digestive Health Research Institute and Michael G. DeGroote Institute for Infectious Disease Research at McMaster University. Dr. Michael Surette obtained his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the Memorial University of Newfoundland and his Ph.D. in Biochemistry at the University of Western Ontario. His post-graduate research at Princeton University was on bacterial chemotaxis followed by a faculty position in the Department of Microbiology and Infectious Disease at the University of Calgary, where he's currently an Adjunct Professor. In addition, he is the Director of the McMaster Genomics Facility.
