Michael Cross

Michael Cross is the head of the Stem Cell Biology Laboratory in the Division of Hematology. After holding appointments at the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry (Munich, D) and the Paterson Institute for Cancer Research (Manchester UK) he moved to Leipzig in 1998 as a founding member of the IZKF. He has pioneered work into the role of metabolism in stem cell regulation and currently coordinates a national interdisciplinary research programme in this area. He is on the board of the Translational Centre for Regenerative Medicine, acts as a reviewer for a number of international journals and funding bodies, and recently guest-edited an issue of CTO highlighting stem cell research funded by the German Research Foundation.
