Dr. Michael Huang is a neurosurgeon who specializes in disorders of the brain including tumors and vascular lesions. Huang has extensive training in the management of meningiomas, pituitary tumors, acoustic neuromas, aneurysms, vascular malformations, extracranial carotid diseases, cerebral revascularization and trigeminal neuralgia.
In his research, Huang studies traumatic injuries to the neurological system and neurocritical care. He is particularly interested in advanced neuro-monitoring for traumatic brain injury and spontaneous subarachnoid hemorrhage, skull base fractures and endocrinological disturbances following trauma. He also is interested in surgical approaches to diseases of the cranial base, including the use of minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques. Huang earned a medical degree at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York and completed an internship in general surgery and a residency in neurosurgery at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He completed a skull base and cerbrovascular fellowship at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He is an assistant clinical professor of Neurological Surgery at UCSF.
