Dr. Michael El Boghdady is currently a chief registrar at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital, London with clinical, leadership, and management roles. Michael was elected to the Council as the Association of Surgeons in Training (ASiT) South East London Representative and subsequently the EDI officer. He is also passionate about surgical education, and he obtained his MD degree in surgeon's errors and laparoscopic training from the University of Dundee. He also obtained a master's degree in General Surgery from the University of Edinburgh, a master's in health professions education, and another one in higher education. Michael is well-published and got over 70 presentations at national and international conferences. He has been the specialty editor at the Bulletin of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and he is on the editorial board of other peer-reviewed journals such as the British Journal of Surgery and BMC Surgery Journal. Michael has been working on projects to provide support strategies to trainees who experienced poor behaviors. Michael has special interests in surgical training, anti-bullying, equality, and diversity in surgery.
