Michael Bachmann Nielsen DMSc, PhD

Michael Bachmann Nielsen is a Medical graduate from the Faculty of Health Science, University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1985, and received the PhD degree in 1994, and the DMSc Dissertation degree in 1998. He is a Full Professor of Oncoradiology with the University of Copenhagen, and Chief Radiologist at the Department of Radiology, Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen.

He has been editor in Ultraschall in der Medizin/European Journal of Radiology since 2005. He has served in EFSUMB’s Publication Committee from 2002 to present, chair since 2007. He has authored over 200 peer-reviewed journal articles on ultrasound or radiology. Previous chair of The Danish Society of Radiology, The Danish Society of Diagnostic Ultrasound and The Nordic Society of Medical Radiology. His current research interests include clinical testing of new ultrasound techniques, tumor vascularity, and training in ultrasound.
