Micah Curran is a Ph.D. candidate in Virology and Gene Therapy at the Mayo Clinic Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, where he has been conducting full-time research since 2023. His work focuses on advancing biomedical science through the study of viruses and the development of gene-based therapeutic strategies.
Before beginning his doctoral studies, Micah gained hands-on laboratory experience with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service. There, he worked as a Biological Science Laboratory Technician and earlier as a Biological Science Aid, contributing to research projects and building a strong foundation in experimental methods and data analysis.
Micah earned his undergraduate degree in Biotechnology and Microbiology from North Dakota State University, where he developed his interest in infectious diseases and molecular biology. Earlier in his career, he also worked as a General Merchandise Expert at Target, demonstrating strong interpersonal and organizational skills alongside his academic pursuits.
