Mercedes Rodríguez-Villafuerte studied physics at the UNAM Faculty of Sciences in 1989. She completed his Master's (1990) and Doctorate (1994) studies in Radiation Physics with applications in Medicine at the University of London, England. In 1994 she entered the Institute of Physics of the UNAM as a researcher and since the creation of the Master of Science (Medical Physics) of the Graduate Program in Physical Sciences, UNAM, she is part of the list of tutors and actively participates as a professor and thesis director. Her areas of interest include radiation dosimetry, Monte Carlo simulations of radiation transport, and medical imaging.
