Dr. Mercedes Florez-White is a well-known dermatologist born in Colombia, with over 30 years of experience in academics and in private practice and with a remarkable international career. She is recognized as a key opinion leader in Dermatology and a pioneer in the field of Cosmetic Dermatology in Latin America. Dr. Florez has been a guest professor and speaker in the most important congresses of dermatology around the world. She held all available positions in the Colombian Association of Dermatology (Member of the Board, Treasurer, General Secretary, Vice President and President). She was also a Vice President of the Iberian Latin American College of Dermatology - CILAD.

Currently, Dr. Florez-White is the Director of the Dermatology Course for medical students of the FIU-Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine and she is a Dermatologist at the FIU-HEALTH Ambulatory Care Center and the Student Health Center at Florida International University. Dr. Florez-White holds memberships and positions in multiple International Dermatology Associations. These include a member of the Board of the International Society of Dermatology, Co-Chair of the Maria Duran Committee and the honorary member of the majority of the Latin American Associations, among others.

Dr. Florez is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), and recently received a Certificate of Recognition for 25 years of continuous support to the AAD. She also works voluntarily as one of the coordinators of the Iberian-Latin American Group for the Study of Acne (GILEA) and as secretary of the International Foundation for Education in Dermatology (FIDE) to promote the education in young dermatologists. Dr. Mercedes Florez-White is fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish (mother tongue).
