Melissa Stundick, PhD is the Chief of the Broad Spectrum Antimicrobials Program at BARDA. She oversees a portfolio of approximately $1.2B in procurement and advanced research and development contracts which support the development of novel antibacterial and antiviral drugs.

Prior to joining BARDA in January 2011, Dr. Stundick provided scientific and program management support as a Contractor to a number of Government and private entities, including the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, National Center for Medical Intelligence, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. She received her PhD from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and her B.S. in Chemistry from Bates College. She also holds a Certificate of Intelligence Analysis from the University of Maryland.
