Melissa is a licensed independent social worker with supervision designation with several years of experience in the behavioral health field. She earned her bachelor’s degrees in Anthropology and Italian Language & Literature from the University of Maryland. She earned her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Cincinnati. As part of her MSW program, Melissa completed specialized courses and an internship in social work administration.
Melissa has worked with individuals, families, and groups in a variety of settings including an elementary school, home healthcare, jails, hospitals, and inpatient psychiatric facilities. She has enjoyed helping people make changes using a strengths-based approach in order for them to lead healthier and happier lives.
As Director of Clinical Operations at BrightView, she oversees a team of 65 staff which include site clinical supervisors, counselors, case managers, and peer recovery supporters. She works to identify improvements that lead to provision of effective and quality clinical services.
