Melissa Mcneil MD, MPH, MACP

Dr. Melissa Ann McNeil, MD, MPH, MACP, is a distinguished physician-educator and clinician specializing in women’s health, medical education, and general internal medicine. She holds both a Doctor of Medicine (MD) and a Master of Public Health (MPH), earned from the University of Pittsburgh, and completed her undergraduate studies at Princeton University.

Dr. McNeil is Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, where she also serves as Associate Chief of the Division, Chief of the Section of Women’s Health, Director of the Comprehensive Women’s Health Program, and Director of the Women’s Health Fellowship. Her leadership extends to directing the NIH-sponsored BIRCWH (Building Interdisciplinary Careers in Women’s Health) Program and advancing interdisciplinary research and education.

An influential voice in clinical practice and policy, Dr. McNeil has championed gender-specific primary care models that integrate women’s preventive services with traditional internal medicine. She has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications on topics ranging from medical education innovations to women’s health care delivery, and she has participated in national task forces and advisory panels on women’s health initiatives.
