Dr. Melissa Loja completed medical school at the University of California at Davis. She went on to be among the first in the nation to complete a specialized integrated vascular surgery residency program at the University of California at Davis. Dr. Loja was selected for the highly competitive NIH-funded T32 research grant, which led to widely cited publications. She attained a Master's degree in Clinical and Translational Research from these efforts. In addition, she holds a Bachelor's degree in Biologic Sciences, also obtained at the University of California at Davis.
Dr. Loja specializes in vascular and endovascular surgery, including carotid artery disease, aneurysm repair, dialysis access, treatment of mesenteric and renal artery disease, and lower extremity revascularization. Among her clinical interests, limb salvage and peripheral arterial disease with a multidisciplinary focus is a particular passion of hers. She is expertly trained and highly skilled in endovascular as well as surgical management of peripheral arterial disease.
