Melissa has been an ER nurse since 1990, teaching in the clinical setting since 1992 and on a nursing faculty since 2003. Her background includes home health and pediatric med-surg Nursing. Her area of professional concentration is nursing education—both clinical continuing education and academia, along with clinical expertise in trauma and pediatric emergency nursing.
She is the clinical practice and education specialist in a pediatric emergency facility and is on the faculty of an RN associate degree program at a local school of nursing. Melissa teaches PALS, ACLS, ENPC, TNCC and has facilitated CATN. She developed both a pediatric emergency nursing intern program and a new graduate pediatric emergency nurse intern program.
