Melissa Denmark LM

Melissa was licensed as a midwife in 2004 and worked in Seattle several years before moving to Snohomish. In January 2009, Snohomish Midwives opened and started serving women in and around Snohomish County. It has been a growing and thriving business ever since.

Melissa has been involved in midwifery education at Seattle Midwifery School and later Bastyr University from 2006-2013. She has also served for three years as the secretary on the Midwives' Association of Washington State Board of Directors. Currently, Melissa is the Smooth Transitions Project Coordinator and works on the state level to improve relationships with midwives and hospitals during community birth transfers.

She is active in the Snohomish community and enjoys gardening, horseback riding, beekeeping, and spending time with her family. Melissa and husband own and run Raising Cane Ranch, specializing in organic raspberries, honey, hay, and farm raised beef and lamb.
