Melissa Cannon PhD

Melissa Cannon is an Assistant Professor of Gerontology at Western Oregon University. She earned her PhD at Portland State University in 2015 with a degree in Urban Studies, specializing in the fields of aging and community development. She teaches courses such as Introduction to Gerontology, Environmental Gerontology, and Housing and Long-Term Care for Older Adults. Her research interests include age-friendly places, community partnerships, and policies that create healthy, inclusive communities for people across the life course.
