Prof. Zilberman holds an appointment of Professor with tenure at the department of Biomedical Engineering of Tel Aviv University. She received her B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering (Cum Laude) and her M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from the Technion in Israel. She continued as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Prof. Zilberman's research interests are polymeric biomaterials, tissue engineering, biodegradable active implants and controlled drug release. She is the president of Israel Society for Medical and Biological Engineering (ISMBE) since 2014.

Prof. Zilberman joined the Dept. of Biomedical Engineering in Tel-Aviv University in 2002 and established research and teaching activities these fields. She has published more than 90 peer reviewed articles in the top Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering journals and 6 patents, contributed more than 200 presentations (including invited talks and plenary lectures) and serves on the editorial board of several Biomaterials journals. Her research is funded continuously by highly competitive governmental scientific funding agencies such as the Israel Science Foundation (ISF) and Israel Ministry of Health (MOH) as well as by grants for applied research, such as RAMOT –Horowitz Foundation and Kamin (Israel Ministry of Trade) and Momentum Fund.
