Mehmet Selcuki

Mehmet Selcuki became a specialist in neurosurgery in 1983 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1986 and Full Professor at Ankara University in 1995. He subsequently worked with Professor Merton Bernfield of the Children’s Hospital Laboratory, Harvard Medical School, Boston, studying molecular genetics of midline fusion defects in the curly tail mouse (1996-1997). Upon his return home he began to work on chick embryo and established a laboratory both in Ankara University and then in Celal Bayar University, Manisa, Turkey, where he currently serves as Head of Department of Neurosurgery.
