Biography :
Mehmet Akce, MD, is a clinical investigator in the Division of Medical Oncology with a focus on gastrointestinal malignancies. Dr. Akce is board certified in internal medicine, hematology and medical oncology. Prior to joining Emory in 2017, he was a hematology and oncology fellow at Dan L. Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Akce received his medical degree from Marmara University School of Medicine in Istanbul, Turkey. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan where he also served as Chief Medical Resident. He then completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Baylor College of Medicine, Dan L. Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.
