Meghan Shekar MD

Dr. Meghan B. Shekar is a pediatric hematologist-oncologist at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Dana-Farber/Boston Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders Center. She also serves as an Instructor in Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School. Her clinical and research focus is on pediatric solid tumors, with a particular interest in developing novel immunotherapy approaches for children with relapsed and refractory cancers.

Dr. Shekar completed her medical degree at the SUNY Stony Brook School of Medicine, followed by residency training in pediatrics and fellowship training in pediatric hematology-oncology at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital. She subsequently completed advanced fellowship training in pediatric solid tumors, further specializing in translational and immunotherapy-based cancer treatment strategies.

Her work integrates clinical care with translational research aimed at improving outcomes for children with difficult-to-treat malignancies, including neuroblastoma, sarcomas, germ cell tumors, and other pediatric solid tumors. Dr. Shekar is actively involved in advancing innovative therapies designed to harness the immune system to target pediatric cancers while improving long-term survivorship and quality of care.
