Megan Shetterly RN, MS, CPPS

Megan Shetterly, RN, MS is a SeniorPatient Safety Liaison for the Pennsylvania Patient Safety Authority. In her tenurewith the Authority, she has worked with various Pennsylvania health carefacilities in an effort to reduce medical errors. Her past work includedworking with a group of Pennsylvania Hospitals on a successful collaborationthat reduced blood specimen mislabeling events. She continues to haveinvolvement with other patient safety projects as well as provide education andoutreach to healthcare facilities to promote safe patient care. She is aCertified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS). She also has certification inJust Culture Training and a TeamSTEPPS master trainer.

Prior to working for the Authority, she worked for 23 years inan acute care hospital assuming multiple roles and responsibilities including deliveryof nursing care in both inpatient and outpatient settings as well as operationaloversight of various clinical departments, risk management, quality management,and patient safety.
