Mazen Taha

Dr. Mazen Taha, currently holds several key positions within Tawam Hospital in Al Ain, UAE. Aside from being the Senior Consultant in Gastroenterology/Hepatology, Dr. Taha is also the Chief of the Gastroenterology Department and the Chairman of the Internal Medicine Department. He has played a vital role in ensuring that all operations and practices under his administrative scope adhere to the superior-quality health care being offered by the hospital in accordance with national standards.

Dr.Taha’s extensive educational background includes training in Medicine and Gastroenterology/Hepatology in Dresden and Berlin in Germany. He then went on to carve a distinctive name for himself holding important positions in notable hospitals. In 1994, he was assigned as the Chief of Endoscopy at the University Hospital in Dresden. He was also later named Director of the Gastroenterology fellowship program.In 1998, he was assigned as the Chief of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in University Hospital Dresden –Germany.

Dr. Taha played a more active role in the UAE health sector in 2002, when he became the Senior Consultant in Gastroenterology /Hepatology and Chief of Gastroenterology at the Tawam Hospital in Al Ain.He was named Chairman of Internal Medicine two years later. Aside from fulfilling his current responsibilities, he is also a Clinical Associate Professor in Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences in UAE University.

He is currently a member of distinguished medical organizations such as the German Society of Gastroenterology and the German Society of Endoscopy and Imaging. Dr.Taha has also shared his comprehensive knowledge and expertise in a number of publications, and has contributed to renowned international medical journals on key topics in the field of Gastrointestinal Oncology and Endoscopy.
