Dr. Mauro Cataldi is a researcher at the Division of Pharmacology of Federico II University. He obtained the degree in Medicine and Surgery magna cum laude in 1988, the Specialization in Endocrinology in 1993, and the PhD in Neuropsychopharmacology in 1996. During his residency in Endocrinology, he spent two years in the laboratory of Dr. Oliver in Marseille to work on neuroendocrine regulation of GH release. After obtaining his PhD Dr. Cataldi worked for two years in the laboratory of Dr. R. Tsien in Stanford (CA, USA) to investigate the biophysical properties of voltage-gated calcium channels.

In 2008, Dr. Cataldi was visiting scientist at the McGill University in Dr. Avoli's lab to perform experimental work on brain slice electrophysiology. During his career, Dr. Cataldi's main research interests have been the neuroregulation of GH secretion, the pharmacology of voltage-gated ion channels, and the pharmacology of epileptiform discharges in acute brain slices.
