Mauricio Cortes PhD

Mauricio Cortes serves as Senior Director and Head of Discovery Science at Cellarity. Previously, he worked at CRISPR Therapeutics, where he contributed to the development of CTX001, the first CRISPR-Cas9 gene-based clinical trial for the treatment of beta-thalassemia and sickle cell disease. He conducted research at Harvard Medical School on the impact of vitamin D3 availability on hematopoietic stem cell homeostasis, and holds a PhD from the University of Chicago.
