Maurice Beghetti FESC

Maurice Beghetti is Head of the Paediatric Cardiology Unit at the University Hospital in Geneva. In addition, he acts as a consultant for paediatric and congenital heart disease-associated pulmonary hypertension at the Centre des Maladies Vasculaires Pulmonaires, Hospital Antoine Béclère, Clamart, France and at the CHU Grenoble, France. Professor Beghetti has spent most of his professional career in Geneva, with a three-year Fellowship at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada. He is a council member of the European Association for Paediatric Cardiology working group ‘Genetic and Basic Science’. He is President of the Swiss Paediatric Cardiology Society and Pre-President of the Swiss Society for Pulmonary Hypertension. He is a member of the task force on the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary arterial hypertension of the European Society of Cardiology. Professor Beghetti’s research interests are focused on pulmonary hypertension and congenital heart defects in paediatric patients.
