Matus Coma PhD

RNDr. Matus Coma, PhD. is a research scientist at the Department of Pharmacology, Faculty of Medicine, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice, Slovakia. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (2011), master’s degree in Biochemistry (2013), and PhD in Pharmacology (2017) at the same university. His research focuses on pharmacology and molecular mechanisms of cell interactions, particularly within the tumor microenvironment, including the role of fibroblasts in cancer progression and chemosensitivity, as well as the development of antibacterial wound dressings.

He has participated in and led several national and international research projects, including APVV and VEGA grants, and completed international research training at the Medical University of Graz in Austria. Dr. Coma is the author and co-author of multiple scientific publications in molecular and cancer research and has been a member of the European Association for Cancer Research since 2018.
