Matthias Turina MD, PhD

Prof. Turina has completed his surgical training in Zurich and, at the end of his professional development, has given a multi-year research stay at the University of Louisville, KY (USA) under the direction of Hiram C. Polk, MD.

From a scientific point of view, he has specialized in surgical infections and in 2010 received the Venia Legendi of the University of Zurich. He has specialized clinically in the field of colorectal surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio (USA) after having undergone surgery. A year after his return to Switzerland, he now heads the colorectal team with the main interests of colorectal carcinoma and chronic inflammatory diseases.
