Matthew Watts MD

Matthew Watts is the Chief Pathologist of NSW Health Pathology. He is a Clinical Microbiologist (FRCPA) Infectious Diseases Physician (FRACP) and an Associate Professor at the University of Sydney. Dr Watts is the Local Pathology Director for Southern NSW and a Senior Staff Specialist based at the ICPMR – NSW Health Pathology, Westmead and Westmead Hospital, Western Sydney Local Health District. In addition to Southern NSW, Matthew has supervisory roles at laboratories throughout the West, Regional and Rural network. He is committed to maintaining excellence in patient care and service delivery in both metropolitan and regional areas. Dr Watts joined the NSW Health Pathology Clinical Operations Leadership Team in February 2023 as Associate Director of Clinical Operations.
