Matthew Thompson MPH, DPhil, MBChB

Matthew Thompson works for Google, where he conducts clinical research across a number of digital health technologies. His 2 decades of academic research career prior to joining Google included technology implementation in primary care, developing and testing clinical diagnostic and predictive algorithms, digital health, improving the detection of cancer, hypertension, measuring vital signs in children and adults, and point of care tests. He has led a wide range of research studies, including cohorts, diagnostic accuracy, case-control studies, randomized clinical trials, qualitative studies, and systematic reviews. Overall, he has over 250 publications in peer-reviewed journals. His focus is on primary healthcare, where people receive the majority of their care.
