Matthew R. Redinbo PhD

Matthew R. Redinbo is a Professor of Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Microbiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy and Bachelor of Science at the University of California. His laboratory studies the molecular basis of human disease toward improving treatments using structural and chemical biology. His current work focuses on the microbiota, specifically the non-lethal modulation of microbial factors to enhance human health. His additional work includes nuclear receptors, antibiotic resistance, mucosal epithelial health, and DNA manipulation enzymes such as conjugative relaxase-helicases and DNA topoisomerases.
