Matthew M. Clark, Ph.D., ABPP, is a clinical health psychologist at Mayo Clinic where he works with medical patients and their families to help them improve their health behaviors and quality of life. He is a Professor of Psychology, Mayo Clinic School of Medicine, and Chair of Research, for the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology, Mayo Clinic. He is a fellow of The Society of Behavioral Medicine and a Fellow of The Obesity Society. For over ten years he has been the Resiliency Domain Leader for Mayo Clinic’s Employee Wellness Center. Over 14,000 Mayo Clinic employees are wellness center members.

In this role, Dr. Clark has helped to design multidisciplinary resiliency programs and to examine outcomes from Health and Wellness Coaching interventions and numerous resiliency programs. Dr. Clark has over 165 scientific publications and currently, he is a co-investigator on two studies funded by the National Institutes of Health that are examining the effectiveness of health and wellness coaching for medical patients. He has published his Health and Wellness Coaching research in Mayo Clinic Proceedings, American Journal of Health Promotion, Preventive Medicine Reports, and American Journal of Health Behavior.
