Dr Jimenez is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon fellowship-trained orthopaedic trauma and joint reconstruction surgeon. He specializes in orthopedic fracture care and joint reconstruction with a focus on soft-tissue preservation and rapid recovery. Matthew Jimenez, MD is an active member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is currently a member of the AAOS Board of Councilors, as well as many AAOS committees. He is a graduate of the AAOS Leadership Fellows Program. Dr. Jimenez is the Immediate Past President of the Illinois Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Dr. Jimenez maintains a faculty appointment as Clinical Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He holds leadership roles within Illinois Bone & Joint Institute, where he has been the Chairman and Medical Director of the Physician Assistant Orthopaedic Residency Training Program since 1997. Dr. Jimenez developed and chairs the Chicago Orthopaedic Symposium, which is a four-day multidisciplinary trauma course in its 20th year. He lectures extensively, nationally, and internationally. He has served as chairman and faculty on many educational forums in trauma and fracture care.

Dr. Jimenez is the Founder and CEO of the Foundation for Education and Musculoskeletal Research (FEMR), which he started in 2008. He started FEMR, a nonprofit foundation, with the mission to become a resource for unbiased information to promote musculoskeletal health and research, prevent fragility fractures and increase awareness of osteoporosis and related bone trauma and disabilities.
