Dr. Matthew J. Mimiaga is a tenured Full Professor and Vice Chair of Epidemiology at UCLA Fielding School of Public Health and Psychiatry & Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine, Los Angeles, CA. He is Director of the UCLA Center for LGBTQ+ Advocacy, Research & Health (C- LARAH) and affiliated Senior Research Scientist at The Fenway Institute, Fenway Health, Boston, MA. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Epidemiology and Behavioral & Social Sciences at Brown University School of Public Health, Providence, RI.
Before joining UCLA in 2020, Dr. Mimiaga was a tenured Professor of Epidemiology and Behavioral & Social Health Sciences (School of Public Health) and Professor of Psychiatry & Human Behavior (Alpert Medical School) at Brown University, Providence, RI (from 2015 – 2020). Prior to his appointment at Brown University, he was Professor of Epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health and Professor of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA (from 2008 to 2015).
Dr. Mimiaga completed the Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Training Program in Behavioral Medicine, Department of Psychiatry, Harvard Medical School; he received a Doctorate of Science from Harvard University, a Master of Public Health from Boston University, and a Master of Arts from Brown University.
