Matthew Hilton Sutliff PT, MSCS

Matthew Sutliff is the Clinical Team Leader at the Mellen Center for Multiple Sclerosis Treatment and Research, part of the Cleveland Clinic Neurological Institute in Cleveland, Ohio. The Mellen Center is one of the largest and most comprehensive specialty centers in the world for MS care and research. Mr. Sutliff has been a physical therapist since 1989, specializing in Multiple Sclerosis and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) since 2003. His published articles on MS and ALS rehabilitation have appeared in Current Medical Research and Opinion, Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, The International Journal of MS Care, Post Graduate Medicine, and Muscle & Nerve.

Mr. Sutliff has conducted research trials on new treatment options, and his development of the hip flexion assist device (HFAD), which is used to enhance walking ability in MS patients, earned him the Cleveland Clinic’s 2005 Innovator Award. Mr. Sutliff is also a staff physical therapist with the Can Do MS Center in Edwards, Colorado, a wellness and educational program for people with MS. He is also an active member within the Consortium of Multiple Sclerosis Centers (CMSC) and has made numerous presentations to local and international audiences on MS rehabilitation.
